Pathophysiology of Cerebral Ischemia
Paper Purpose: To investigate the pathophysiology of the following disorder: cerebral ischemia. The paper should briefly discuss some of the cognitive/motor/sensory etc. symptoms and focus on the pathophysiology of the disease. This should include issues at the level of neurotransmitters/cell physiology (neurons or glia), lesions/damage/altered functioning of brain areas, changed functioning of sensory/motor systems. If possible, it should also include physiological interventions such as surgery or drug treatments.
Research required: At least 8 current journal articles (refereed journals) should be used. Examples of refereed journals are Journal of Neuroscience, Nature, Behavioral Neuroscience, Science, Brain Research, Physiology and Behavior, Psychopharmacology, Psychophysiology, Neurology, Behavioral Brain Research and Scientific American. Do not use information from websites, encyclopedias, dictionaries and Introductory Psychology texts.
Format: APA format, typed, double-spaced, Word document. Subheadings should be used to organize your paper. All information should be properly referenced in the body of text. If you are unsure as to what APA format entails, look at an article in the Journal of Neuroscience as this is an APA journal. An abstract is not required. References should also be APA format. Organization, grammar, spelling and readability count, so edit your paper.
The length should be 5-7 pages, typed (12 size font), double-spaced with 1 inch margins.
